New translation (to German) and a small article in English

We finally have a new translation. The revered Kaṇṇinuṇ Śiruth Tāmbu is now available in German.
We also released a rather old English text (110+ years old), where his holiness Govindāchārya Swāmi, an Āchārya fluent in English and quite involved in the academic debates of his time about questions on Hinduism, explains the meaning of the term Bhagavān.
His Holiness Srī Perumbudur Appan Parakāla Embār Jeeyar Swami has left his body

Today marks the disappearance day of Mādhava’s Ācharya Srī Appan Parakāla Embār Jeeyar Swami, who was located at Rāmānuja’s birth place Sri Perumbudur, close to Chennai. His holiness was probably one of the oldest active Ācharyas – next year, he would have turned 100 years.
Now his holiness is freed from this mortal plane and will enternally enjoy the service at the feet of Srīman Nārāyana.

JET UK recently announced that Hi Holiness Chinna Jeeyar Swami will be visiting the UK in late June this summer. There are also talks of a visit in continetal Europe, but this is not yet confirmed.
Yāmunāchārya – Samvatsiddhi (part 1)

[ENG] While the three philosophical works of Rāmānuja’s great predecessor are not unknown, they were only available in summarised form. In particular the Samvatsiddhi has so far not been much more than a footnote in books on Yāmunāchārya. We came across a German work by an Austrian scholar, who put in great effort to give an accurate translation and explore the structure of the work, as numerous sections were seemingly lost.
In an effort to make the contents of this rather obscure academic book from the 1980s available to the Śrī Vaiṣṇava world, we translated and re-edited some of the general commentary and explanation as well as the translation of the first ~50 verses.
During the next years, we will provide the remainder of the text split in two further parts.

Updates on the quest for Vishwananda’s Āchārya

[DEU] Im Rahmen einer neues Diskussionwelle um ein Bhakti Marga Festival in Mauritius, das exakt zum selben Zeitpunkt wie ein ISKCON Festival statt findet und von vielen Devotees als Versuch der Übernahmes eines etablierten Festes gesehen wird, wurden wird über eine Website informiert, in der Vishwananda seine Parampara, also die Lehrer-Schüler Folge, in der erst steht, angibt… sagen wir mal so, das hat unseren Glauben in seine Authenzität nicht erhöht. Wir haben den Artikel zu falsche Āchāryas erkennen entsprechend aktualisiert.
[ENG] With a recent new wave of debate around Vishwananda triggered by preparations of a Bhakit Marga festival in Mauritius, which is scheduled exactly parallel to a well-established festival by ISKCON and was seen by many as attempt to take over that, festival, we we informed about a website which gives Vishwananda’s own statements on his parampara… Let’s say its not improving our believe in him being authentic. The update is at the end of the article on spotting fake Āchāryas.

Koyil Deutschland unterstützte bei HR Dokumentation / Podcast über Vishwananda

[DEU] Unser Artikel über Vishwananda, in dem wir erklären, warum er mit Sicherheit kein Śrī Vaiṣnava Āchārya ist, wurde auch von einem Rechercheteam aus Journalisten, die für den Hessischen Rundfunk an einer Dokumentation und ein Podcast zu den Missbrauchsvorwürfen gegenüber Swami Vishwananda arbeiteten, endeckt. Swami Vishwananda ist der sprituelle Führer der Bakti Marge Gruppe mit Hauptsitzt in Hessen. Bei diesen Recherchen gab es zwei längere Interviews, in der wir den Journalisten Hintergundinformationen zum Hinduismus, zur traditionelle Rolle eines Gurus und von Schülern und deren Verhalten u.v.m. gegeben haben. Kurze Teile der Interviews sind auch in der fünften Podcast Folge zu hören.
Die Dokumentation wurde gesendet und in der HR Mediathek veröffentlicht, aber durch eine einstweilige Verfügung, die Bhakti Marga erwirkt hat, musste sie dort entfernt werden. Im Netz ist sie aber immer noch verfügbar, z.B. hier.

Eine Lebensbeschreibung von Rāmānuja / a book on Rāmānuja’s life

[ENG] Work on a book on the life of Rāmānuja is taking up pace again. We are making a fresh edition of the book by Govindacharya Swami, which is out of print for more than a century and available only as scan. We seek to bring the book with all its details and footnotes into a modern, Ebook-reader friendly format. We expect to finish the fresh edition somewhere next year.
[DEU] Wir arbeiten aktuell wieder intensiver an einem Buch über Rāmānuja. Genauer gesagt machen wir eine Übersetzung des Buches von Govindacharya Swami, das voll von wunderbaren Details ist. Wir hoffen, dass die englische Edition für Ebooks irgendwann Anfang 2022 fertig wird, die deutsche Übersetzung kommt dann irgendwann Ende 2022 oder Anfang 2023.
